Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS launched
We have been patiently waiting for the Baleno RS, since it was launched as a concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. And now, Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the budget performance hatch at Rs 8.69 lakh (ex Delhi). As expected, the car will have only one variant – the top-end Alpha.
The 1.0L bossterjet direct injection ending delivers 20% more power than a conventional 1.2L petrol engine. At the same time the torque is 30% higher than its 1.2L sibling. This means Baleno RS would be ideal for real world driving but also gives superb power for performance enthusiasts.
Under the hood Baleno RS gets new 1.0L BoosterJet engine which churns out 75Kw of power and 150 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The claimed mileage on the Baleno RS is 20.1 kmpl.
The car gets an RS badging at the rear. The overall dimensions of the car remains unchanged but the new performance hatch does get reworked front and rear bumper which makes the car look a bit bigger and muscular. The cars stands 170 mm above the ground.
The cars features projector headlamps with DRls, rear door spoiler, alloy wheels finished in black, chrome accent front grille as a standard feature. Baleno RS will be available in seven exterior colours.
