Indian team announced for T20 World Cup 2024

The Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup has been announced. Team India will be seen playing under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Whereas, Hardik Pandya will be seen serving as vice-captain. Two wicketkeepers have been included in the team. These include Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson. At the same time, KL Rahul has been dropped from the team. Rahul was part of the Indian team in the last T20 World Cup. The T20 World Cup is co-hosted by West Indies and USA starting from June 1, while the final will be played on June 29. Regarding the team, captain Rohit Sharma and selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar will also address a press conference on May 2 at 4 pm at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.

India won the last T20 World Cup in 2007

The Indian team last won the T20 World Cup in 2007. This was the first edition of this format. India has been struggling to win this trophy for 17 years. Last time i.e. in 2022, India lost to England by 10 wickets in the semi-finals. Now, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, these 15 players will come out to end the 17-year long T20 World Cup trophy drought. India last won an ICC trophy in 2013. Rohit and Co. would also like to end the 11-year ICC trophy drought. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, the Indian team lost to Australia in the final.
