Odd-Even to be restarted in Delhi from November 4 to 15
Chief Minister of the capital Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has announced to implement the Odd-Even Returns scheme again. This rule will be applicable from November 4 to 15. CM Kejriwal said that in the month of November, stubble is lit in the states around Delhi, due to which Delhi becomes a gas chamber. Therefore, it has been decided to implement the Odd-Even formula once again.
Chief Minister Kejriwal said that we are working with the Central and Punjab governments at their level to stop pollution, but the Delhi government cannot sit with folded hands. Kejriwal said that in the past years, the implementation of Odd-Even in the month of November has reduced pollution in the state. Delhi is a state where pollution has come down by 25 percent, the government is trying to reduce it further.
Kejriwal said that we had sought suggestions from the public and discussed it with experts. On Diwali there is more smoke due to firecrackers, in such an appeal to the people of Delhi, Kejriwal said that do not burn firecrackers, this is also the order of the Supreme Court. Arvind Kejriwal said that a warroom is also being made to deal with complaints related to pollution. In addition, an environment marshal will also be appointed in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal said that after nearly 1200 e-mails and consultations from several experts, the government has planned to deal with Delhi’s pollution. Delhi government will collectively celebrate pollution-free Diwali. The Odd-Even scheme will be implemented again in November. Delhi government will provide free masks to people from October.
Kejriwal said that when pollution was high in Delhi, Odd Even was implemented and the Delhiites helped to make this formula a success. Now the people of Delhi are ready to fight pollution, with the confidence that the government is going to implement it again in November.
Regarding the new traffic rules and challans, Arvind Kejriwal said, “we want the traffic rules to be improved. Ever since the new rule came into force, Delhi’s traffic has improved”.
