IMD forecasts severe cold in Delhi, UP, Rajasthan for the next 24 hours

Dense to extremely dense fog is expected in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and western Rajasthan for the next 48 hours. On the other hand, dense to very dense fog may remain in eastern Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours. This foggy condition is expected to continue for the next 5 days. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an advisory and appealed to the people to be careful.

he Meteorological Department has predicted that there will be severe cold in the entire western UP this week. Outbreak of cold is also being seen in the plains of Uttarakhand, Haridwar. The minimum temperature recorded here was 10 degrees.

Cold wave is going on in the capital. People are using a lot of electric devices like heaters, blowers to avoid cold. So much so that on Monday the demand for electricity reached its peak this season. The Meteorological Department has told that cold wave and severe cold wave is going on in some parts of Delhi and Haryana and at different places in Rajasthan. Actually, the Meteorological Department declares a cold wave when the minimum temperature is 4.5 degrees. With the onset of severe cold, the consumption of electricity has also increased in Delhi. The maximum demand for power reached 4,803 MW on Monday. It is in high demand in this season.

Appeal to people to be careful

Dense fog can also cause power outages. People who have asthma may have difficulty in breathing. This can also cause problems in the eyes. The Meteorological Department has also issued an advisory of fog. They said that while traveling leave the house only after knowing the timings of the planes, trains and buses. Use fog lights while driving. Carry water and medicines with you wherever you go.
