Two criminals shot security guards of secure value company who had come in a cash van to restock the axis bank ATM located at BSM chowk, Roorkee. The robbers looted Rs 25 lakhs from the guard.
The incident is about 1:15 pm. Two employees of the company went inside the ATM, whereas security personnel Shakeel Ahmed (48 years old) resident Dhandera Kotwali stood outside of Roorkee ATM.
Meanwhile, two bike riders came from behind, grabbed the guard and beat him up and shot him. The bullet hit the guard near the ear and he started bleeding profusely. There was a stir. Employees who put money in the ATM, handed over a sum of Rs 25 lakh to the miscreants. The robbers escaped after looting.
The injured is undergoing treatment at a private nursing home in the city. Police team reached the spot to investigate the matter.
