Open Eastern Peripheral Expressway for public by June 1 even if no inauguration takes place by 31st May

The Supreme Court has expressed displeasure over the 135-km long Eastern Peripheral Expressway connecting the cities of Haryana and UP on not operational even after it was created. The Supreme Court has ordered that the Eastern Corridor be inaugurated by May 31. If the inauguration is not done by May 31, then the corridor should be opened, any kind of delay will not be in the interest of the people of Delhi. During the hearing, a bench chaired by Justice Madan B Lokur and Justice Deepak Gupta made a very strict comment on the non-operation of the corridor.

Supreme Court asks why wait for Prime Minister

During the hearing, Justice Lokur said we were told that eastern corridor will be inaugurated Prime Minister by the end of April. But, according to media reports, the PM will not be here even for the coming days. Government why wait for PM, the government representative ASG appearing in court can also inaugurate the expressway. Meghalaya High Court has been working for 5 years without formal opening , then why can not Eastern Corridor.

What is the significance of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway

Many cities of NCR will be joined by Eastern Peripherals. This will link between Faridabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Sonipat. Many states will be linked to the 135-km-long Eastern Peripheral. In the 500 days, this Eastern Peripheral Express-Way is ready. Originally 910 day goal had been set of making this expressway. The 135-km expressway is built at a cost of 11 thousand crores.
