Kejriwal ensures safety of IAS officers; appeals them to return to work

The protest that was going on in Delhi’s LG House for the last 7 days has turned into a demonstration on the streets of Delhi. Thousands of workers of Aam Aadmi Party came out from Mandi House to the Prime Minister’s residence. After the support of the four Chief Ministers yesterday, the Aam Aadmi Party got the support of the CPM today. Amongst all these, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted the IAS officers that the officials should come to work, they need not be afraid.

Kejriwal tweeted, “I have been told that the IAS Association has expressed concern about its security at the press conference today. I assure them that I will ensure their security within power and resources. It is my duty. I have given similar assurance to many officers, who have personally met me. I repeat this same thing again today.”

Kejriwal further wrote, the officers are like my family. I will request them to stop boycott of the government and return to work. Start attending ministers’ meetings, answer their phone and message. They should work without any fear or pressure. They will not come under any pressure, whether it is the state government or the central government or any other political party.

After this, Kejriwal tweeted another tweet, “A large number of people today came out on the road to save democracy. I Salute people’s passion. People have given large sacrifices to save their beloved country and democracy. If tomorrow, even if we have to give our own life for this, we will give it happily.

Earlier, Delhi’s IAS Association has denied the Aam Aadmi Party’s claim that its officials are on strike by holding a press conference. Also, they have been accused that they are being targeted. Revenue Secretary Manisha Saxena accompanied by Transport Commissioner Varsha Joshi, South Delhi District Magistrate Amjad Tak and Information and Publicity Secretary Jaidev Sarangi held a press conference in the Press Club in New Delhi. They said that the officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in Delhi are working with great sincerity and dedication. Officials also said that they are not involved in politics and are neutral. Their work is to implement government policies.
