Delhi government increases MLA fund limit to Rs 10 crore

The Delhi government has decided to increase the fund of the legislators. Arvind Kejriwal cabinet has increased the MLA fund by Rs 6 crore. After which it has increased to 10 crores.

This decision has been taken in the meeting of the Delhi Cabinet. The MLAs stamped on raising funds. Earlier, there were Rs 4 crore funds for MLAs of Delhi legislature, which has been increased to 10 crores. Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia gave this information in the Assembly today.

This move was not riddled without controversy. While Najib Jung’s tenure as Lieutenant Governor, Kejriwal’s government had tried several times to increase legislative fund and Najib Jung had returned the file. The Aam Aadmi Party had made a lot of controversy on this.

Now, while the Supreme Court has extended the powers of the Delhi government, in such a situation, the Kejriwal cabinet has once again decided to increase the MLA fund. However, before that the news has also been coming that the funds of the legislator funds are not being spent. The MLAs have been claiming that the bureaucrats were not were causing constraints of development work and the barriers of municipal corporation to the MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party.
