Former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s health remains critical; admitted in AIIMS

The condition of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, admitted in the AIIMS in Delhi, has worsened in the past 24 hours and he has been kept on the ventilator. This was stated in a statement issued on behalf of AIIMS on Wednesday evening. Since Wednesday, many ministers and leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have gone to AIIMS to inquire about his health. People have being praying for the speedy recovery of the former PM.

For the last nearly 9 weeks Vajpayee is undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He was admitted to the hospital due to problems in kidney infections, chest congestion, urinary tract infection.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi arrived at the hospital around 7:30 pm and talked about the health of former prime minister with doctors for about 50 minutes. Simultaneously, Union Minister Smriti Irani and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and MP Meenakshi Lekhi also visited AIIMS to know Vajpayee’s case.

Was admitted on 11th June

Vajpayee was admitted to AIIMS on June 11 after infection in kidney, chest infection and urinary infection etc. Only one kidney functioned of 93 year old former PM, who is suffering from diabetes, works. During this time many leaders along with Prime Minister Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and BJP President Amit Shah also visited AIIMS to know Vajpayee’s case.
