‘The Big Bang Theory’ to end after season 12

American television sitcom ‘The Big Bang Theory’ which aired first in 2007 will end after season 12. Originally started as a show about the lives of socially awkward physicists Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper the show gradually moved to an ensemble cast. CBS and Warner Bros TV said on August 22 that season 12 will be the season finale of the long-running sitcom. The statement read, “We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past 12 seasons.

We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”

Jim Parsons releases Instagram post to than fans

In a lengthy Instagram post on Thursday, actor Jim Parsons who plays the role of Sheldon Cooper one of the prominent characters on the show said,”❤️Swipe for my caption to this picture which was too long to just write here (not surprising given the circumstances) ❤️. It is hard (nearly impossible, actually) to really accept that this is a picture of the first of the final 24 episodes we will shoot for The Big Bang Theory,” the 45-year-old actor writes. “I feel very fortunate that we have another 23 episodes to shoot this season because I am hopeful that with each and every one, my level of REALLY accepting this fact will sink in.”
