Next Britain PM to be declared on July 23 says conservative party

The ruling party in Britain said that the name of the person elected to the next Prime Minister of Britain will be announced on July 23. Former Foreign Minister Boris Johnson is moving forward in this race. He is facing stiff competition from Jeremy Hunt. 313 MPs of the Conservative Party have selected these two candidates out of 10 contenders. 160,000 members of the party will decide their fate.

A statement issued by the party said that the next leader of the Conservative Party will be announced on Tuesday 23rd July. Both candidates have agreed in this process. Having confirmed the name of the country’s next Prime Minister, Theresa May meet Queen Elizabeth II to formally resign from her post as Prime Minister. This will be followed by the visit of elected Prime Minister Buckingham Palace. Where the name will be formally confirmed. Theresa had announced the resignation last month after the Brexit agreement was not passed in Parliament.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has made his stand about Britain’s new Prime Minister. He said that Russia will be ready to work with whatever British Prime Minister will be with them. Putin said that “we respect the results of the prime minister’s election. Also work with those who would like to work with us.”
