Broadcasting woes continue with Tata Sky; more channels to be removed

There seems to be no end to the fight between DTH service provider Tata Sky and broadcasters like Sony TV and TV Today Network which provides channels like AajTak. Earlier in the month the negotiations between Tata Sky and the channel providers had failed due to which some channels were removed while others had to be reactivated by the end user via SMS or missed call. The same problem seems to have creeped up again with many users venting their anger on social media.

26 channels to be dropped by Tata Sky

As per this new public notice issued by Tata Sky, a total of 26 channels will be discontinued on the platform after three weeks from the date of issue of notice. Out of these 26 channels, 17 will be removed from the platform due to the expiry of the agreement, whereas the other will be removed due to a breach of the agreement.
