United Kingdom gears up to celebrate 1st National Samosa Week

The popularity of samosas, which is eaten in large quantity in India, has now reached  global popularity. In view of its popularity in the UK, National Samosa Week will be organized next month. Romayl Gulzar, a Pakistani-based media person living in Leicester, is organizing this. Earlier, he had started the Leicester Curry Award.

Six cities will participate in the event from 9th to 13th April. During this time many competitions will be organized from making samosas to eating it. The money collected from the program will be used for the people with mental illness and the family of police officers who died during service.

Gulzar said, “Through this event, the spread of recipes and culture of South Asia will spread. This triangle-shaped snack came from West Asia. It spread to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh with traveling merchants. The world’s most delicious samosas are found in Delhi. From our program, we are trying a little bit to bring it to Britain. Those who win other competitions will be given the ticket for this year’s Leicester Curry Award”.
