Delhi government passes resolution to take back Rajiv Gandhi’s Bharat Ratna

Resolution passed on grounds of 1984 riots

The Aam Aadmi Party government has passes a resolution to take back the Bharat Ratna awarded to former PM Rajiv Gandhi. The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has said in this proposal that Bharat Ratna should be withdrawn from Rajiv Gandhi. The former PM was awarded with India’s highest civilian honor in 1991.

However, experts believe that the Central Government will not accept this proposal of the Delhi Assembly. At the same time, it can create a big rift between AAP & Congress party.

Before this, Minister Anil Vij in the Haryana Government also demanded the withdrawal of ‘Bharat Ratna’ given to Rajiv Gandhi and removal of his name from all the ongoing schemes in the country.
