Temperatures soar to record levels in Delhi

The winter season has ended a while back and the heat season is round the corner, but in the early times, the temperature has broken the record. Kuldeep Srivastava, head of IMD’s regional forecasting center, said the Safdarjung Observatory, which provides data for the city, recorded a maximum temperature of 40.1 degrees Celsius today. It is eight degrees above normal. He said that March 31, 1945 was the hottest day in March, when the national capital recorded a maximum of 40.5 degrees Celsius. IMD said that the maximum temperature in Najafgarh today was 41.8 degree Celsius, Narela 41.7 degree Celsius, Pitampura 41.6 and Pusa 41.5 degree Celsius.

At the same time, the minimum temperature of the city was recorded three degrees above the normal at 20.6 degrees Celsius. When the temperature in the plains exceeds 40 ° C, heatwave is declared there. Earlier the temperature of Sunday was the highest in all the days of March in the past two years (according to information from Delhi Territorial Meteorological Center), Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 35.3 degrees on Saturday. After the increase on Sunday, the maximum temperature has been 37.3 degrees, which was 5 degrees above normal.  Before this on 31 March 2019, a high of 39.2 degrees was recorded.

Mercury expected to fall once again from Tuesday

Once again, the temperature in Delhi can fluctuate. From Tuesday, a dip in temperature is expected. According to information received by the Delhi Territorial Meteorological Center, the wind speeds of 25 to 30 km per hour are expected from Tuesday. With this, the maximum temperature will fall. Wind speeds can remain up to 40 km per hour on Wednesday and Thursday. Along with this, the maximum temperature can be reach around 34 degrees till Thursday.
