Heavy vehicles prohibited in Haridwar from February 28

The police has completed their preparations for the fair of Mahashivaratri. From February 28, entry of heavy vehicles on Haridwar-Najibabad highway will be banned. Vehicles of Kanwars will be redirected in the Nildhara parking from Tuesday. The Kanwar Mela has started duly taking shape in the district. The fair will conclude on Mahashivaratri on March 4, starting from 25th of February. The police has completed the preparations for the traffic. Most of the folks go to Haridwar from Najibabad highway. Kanwar will take the Ganga water from Haridwar to  their destinations.

The Haridwar-Najibabad highway is mostly blocked in the Kanwar fair of Shivratri. That is why the highway has to be completely closed. If there is a crowd in the coming days, it is necessary to stop the highway. In view of this, the traffic police has prohibited entry of heavy vehicles from February 28 on the Haridwar-Najibabad highway. All vehicles coming from Moradabad to Haridwar will be sent to Roorkee via Meerpur Muzaffarnagar. Vehicles going from Roorkee to Rishikesh will go to Dehradun.
