Renault launches updated version of Kwid
French auto giant Renault has updated his popular Kwid in India. The special thing is that the company has kept 2.66 lakh rupees as the cost of the 2019 Renault Kwid outgoing model. The price of 1.0 climber AMT variants with top-specifications will also be worth 4.63 lakh rupees. Better Information System and Safety Kit has been provided in the new car under the update. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
According to the report of Autocar India, some dealers say that it is expected that after March this year, the company can increase prices by up to Rs 10,000-15,000 according for different variants. Talking about the updates given in the new car, the Infotainment System will be 7.0-inch, but now it will get support for Apple Carplay and Android Auto Connectivity. Along with the updates, Kwid has become the most affordable car in this segment in India.
In addition, in the Infotainment system, video playback support has also been provided via USB and a push-to-talk (Voice Recognition) feature has also been added here. Renault has informed that under the update, fast charging support is now available in the USB charger.
Safety features in the new car have also been updated. Keeping Upcoming Safety Norms in mind, all the variants of 2019 Renault Kwid have been standardized with ABS, a driver and passenger seat belt reminder and speed alert system with EBD. These safety features are going to be mandatory in India for all auto manufacturers since April 1, 2019.
There is no change in this new car mechanically. There are 54hp, 0.8-liter and 68hp, 1.0-liter petrol engine options for this car. Standard 5-speed manual gearboxes are available with both engines. Also, a 5-speed AMT gearbox with a 1.0-liter engine also has an option.
Renault Kwid competes in the Indian market, especially with Maruti Suzuki Alto and Datsun Redigo. Both of these are going to be big changes soon. By October 2019 Maruti is preparing to launch its new Alto.
