Manu Bhaker Saurabh Chaudhary win team gold at Asian Airgun Championship

Indian shooters Manu Bhakar and Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal of the 10 meter Air Pistol Mixed Team event in the 12th Asian Airgun Championship. In the junior category of this event, pair of Isha Singh and Vijayvir Sidhu won the gold medal. The championship is being held in Taiwan’s capital Taipei.

Manu, 17, and Saurabh aged 16, secured 784 marks in the qualification round on Wednesday and broke the record of Russia’s Vitalina Batsarashkina and Artem Chernousov. After this, the Indian pair won the gold medal after securing the first position with 484.8 points in the finals of five teams. Both of them had won gold medal in the ISSF World Cup at the same event in Delhi just a month ago.

The pair of South Korea’s Hwang Seongeun and Kim Mose won the silver with a score of 481.1 points and Wu Chia Ying and Kou Kuan-Ting of Taiwan won the bronze with 413.3 points. The second Indian pair of Anuradha and Abhishek Verma also made it to the finals, but they had to settle for fourth position with 372.1 points.
Isha and Vijayvir scored the gold medal in the junior category final of 478.5 in the 10 meter air pistol mix of this championship.
