Our job is to eliminate target, not count casualties says IAF chief

In response to the Pulwama terror attack, there has been a big statement from the Air Force on the air infiltration by Pakistan. On Monday, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa said that the work of Air Force was to hit its target.” We do not count how much loss there is”. He said that “we only destroy the target that we get.”

Addressing a press conference on Monday, he said that if our targets were not correct and we had to bomb in the forest, why would Pakistan respond? He said that the government can only issue the figure of how much casualty has happened.

The air force chief answered on why MiG-21 was used in this air mission. He said that MiG-21 is one of our workhorse aircraft, which has been upgraded. This aircraft has a better radar.

He said that whatever aircraft is in our fleet we use it in our fight. BS Dhanoa also said that our operation is still going on, so we can not tell more information in front of everyone.

On Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthman, who destroyed Pakistan’s plane, he said that his fitness is under investigation now, if he is fit, then he can take a fighter plane again.

On the morning of 26 February, the IAF’s Mirage planes entered Pakistan and had air strikes on Jaish-e-Mohammed’s bases. The Air Force hit militant hideouts in Balakot, Pakistan. This attack was a response to the terror attack carried out by the Jaish-e-Mohammad on February 14 in Pulwama, in which 40 soldiers were martyred.
