Alert sounded over cyclone Fani

The Indian Meteorological Department said on Saturday that the area under deep pressure on the southeast Bay of Bengal has become a cyclonic storm. This cyclonic storm has been named ‘Fani’. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ will be transformed into a severe cyclonic storm and this cyclonic storm can reach the shores of North Tamilnadu and South Andhra Pradesh on the evening of April 30. Cyclone ‘Fani’ is now situated in the Gulf of the Eastern Linear Indian Ocean and nearby South East Bengal.

Additional director general of the Indian Meteorological Department, Mritunjay Mahapatra said, “According to our assessment, it will reach the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, but this cyclone is unlikely to hit the shores. It can turn off before reaching the coast. We are keeping an eye on this path. “

Director of the Regional Cyclone Warning Center in Chennai, S. Balachandran said, “There is a possibility of a severe cyclonic storm in next 24 hours. He said that the name of the storm has been named ‘Fani’ on Bangladesh’s suggestion. This storm will move forward in the north-west direction and will reach North Tamilnadu and South Andhra Pradesh on 30th April. He said that at present, there is less hope of crossing the Tamil Nadu but it is being monitored.
