Indian tricolour projected on Switzerland’s Matterhorn mountain

The whole world is currently struggling with the threat of coronavirus. Due to this, lockdown continues in our country, due to which people are not moving out of their homes. Organizations such as the World Health Organization and the International Monetary Fund have also praised the rapid decision taken by the Indian government on seeing Corona’s crisis.

India’s way of fighting Corona is being appreciated worldwide. To express solidarity with the people in the fight against the invisible enemy, Switzerland projected the Indian national flag tricolor on the Matterhorn Mountains of the Alps.

Through this light, Switzerland has given the message of hope and passion to win the Corona pandemic. The Indian Embassy in Switzerland shared this photo on Twitter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted retweeting that the whole world is united in the fight with Covid-19. Humanity will surely live through this pandemic.

Switzerland’s famous light artist Gerry Hofstetter lit the mountain in the shape of a tricolor. From 24 March on this mountain, lights are displayed every day showing the flags of different countries to demonstrate the solidarity of the world against the corona pandemic.

Since Wednesday, the lights reflecting the flags of Switzerland, United States of America, Britain and Italy have been projected on the mountain. Gerry Hofstetter explained that light means hope.

More than 18,000 people have been found infected in Switzerland, while 430 people have lost their lives. To stop the spread of the virus, the government has closed schools, bars, restaurants and shops of non-essential items.
