Close aide of Smriti Irani murdered in Amethi

In the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, BJP’s Smriti Irani’s glorious victory over Rahul Gandhi in Congress stronghold in Amethi, was still being celebrated when an unfortunate news came for the newly elected MP. Surendra Singh a BJP worker and close aide of Smriti Irani was last night. He was taken to the hospital where given his serious condition, the doctors referred him to the Lucknow Trauma Center. While traveling to Lucknow, Surendra Singh succumbed to his injuries.

Uttar Pradesh Police Director General OP Singh said that seven suspects were detained in connection with the murder of former village head Surendra Singh late last night in Amethi. “We have got some important evidence in the case of the murder of former Baraulia leader Surendra Singh. We are now investigating and we believe that in the next 12 hours we will be able to catch the culprit.” He said that three company PACs have been deployed to keep the law and order correct.

Last evening, unknown criminals shot and killed former Surendra Singh, former head of Barauliya village in Gauriganj tehsil area. The reason behind the murder is being described as an electoral rivalry. A large number of police forces have been deployed in the village in view of peace arrangements. In the case the police has detained many people.

In the last Lok Sabha election, Surendra Singh played a big role in campaigning for Smriti Irani. Surendra Singh’s influence is in many villages, which benefit Smriti Irani in campaigning. Surendra Singh returned home after celebrating Smriti Irani’s victory. According to the villagers, four attackers arrived late night and called the former village head from the house. As soon as he came out he was shot on the head. After this the attackers escaped from the spot.

The villagers took him to PHC, where he was referred to Rae Bareli district hospital. From there, he was referred to the Lucknow Trauma Center. On his way to Lucknow, he died on the way. The police arrived at the information of the incident gathered in search of the attackers.

Surendra Singh’s son Abhay told the media about the incident that “my father was out of the house and we were inside. Suddenly there was a sound of bullet fire. We ran out and saw that there was a lot of bleeding from his head. We took him to the district hospital where the doctors referred the Trauma Center. He died while going to Lucknow.” Abhay further said that “we did not see the attackers but it is very clear that the Congress party is involved in it.”
