Russia comes up with floating atomic power plant

Nuclear power plant by Russia’s state-run Nuclear Power Corporation (Rosatom) is floating in the water, on Monday it will be ready for commercial operations. In a statement, Rosatom said that two reactors of the floating power plant (FPU) were successfully prepared for its 100 percent capacity on March 31 and it has operations of its main and auxiliary equipment’s as well as automatic process control system.

Andrei Petrov, the director general of Rosenergoatom, Rosatom, said that the results based on these tests will be issued by the certified authorities for the EPU and the operation license will be in July.

He said, “The infrastructure for the floating Nuclear Power Plant (FNPP) as well as the infrastructure for ensuring the transmission of electricity to the local grid and the local grid, heating of the city is proposed by the end of this year at Pevek in Russia. . ” It is likely to be connected to the power grid by December 2019.
