World leaders congratulate PM Modi for resounding victory in Lok Sabha

On 23rd May 2019, Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulated him for the resounding victory of his party in the 2019 General Elections. Prime Minister Modi thanked Prime Minister Abe for his wishes.

During the conversation, both leaders noted the advances made in the bilateral relationship in the last five years and reiterated their commitment towards further strengthening the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership to achieve their shared vision of peace, progress and prosperity.

The two Prime Ministers looked forward to their meeting during the G20 Summit in Osaka next month.

Prime Minister Modi also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Abe to visit India later this year for the next India-Japan Annual Summit.

Emmanuel Macron, President of France congratulated PM Narendra Modi over telephone on his electoral victory.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to work together towards further strengthening of the Strategic Partnership between India and France. Prime Minister Modi thanked France for her steadfast support to India on critical issues.

Describing PM Modi as one of the foremost leaders of the democratic world, President Macron reiterated his invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit France in August 2019 for a bilateral meeting and also to attend the G7 Summit at Biarritz.

Prime Minister of Nepal,  K.P. Sharma Oli called his Indian counterpart Prime Minister  Narendra Modi today and congratulated him on the electoral victory in the Lok Sabha elections.

PM Modi thanked PM Oli for his warm words of felicitations and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthen the bonds of India-Nepal friendship.

The two leaders while expressing satisfaction at the significant progress in bilateral cooperation across various sectors, reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the traditionally close and friendly ties between the two countries and work towards deepening multi-faceted bilateral cooperation.

The Narendra Modi led BJP and its allies recorded a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 breaking its own record set in the last elections. With this win PM Modi is set to become just the third Prime Minister of India to return to power with absolute majority.
