11 killed in skydiving plane crash in Hawaii

Immediately after flying off a small airstrip near the US-based Oahu island, a Sky Diving plane crashed, killing all 11 people in it.

Officials said on Saturday that first nine people were reported to have died in the incident on Friday evening, which included three company customers and six employees. The air transport department tweeted on Saturday that the authorities later confirmed that all 11 people aboard the plane were killed. This twin engine aircraft had flown from Dillingham airfield.

Steven Tickmeyer, who was present at the scene of the incident, said that shortly after the plane was flying, we saw that the entire plane was surrounded by flames. At the same time, officials of the air transport department tweeted that 11 people aboard the plane have died and no survivors have been found. Earlier, the report said that nine people had died.

Significantly, the use of Dillingham Airfield is mostly used for Sky Diving and Glider flights. Hawaii shares its facility with the army, which uses it for helicopter night-vision training.
