SIT constituted brutal murder of 2.5 year old in Aligarh

News of the death of a two-and-a-half-year-old innocent Twinkle Sharma in Aligarh has been in the headlines all over the country for seven days. This heinous crime has enraged the people and a campaign has been launched on social media to bring justice to the innocent Twinkle. This campaign is not being run in Aligarh, but people from all over the country are standing with the child’s family. Nominated film stars and countless big personalities have voiced for justice for Twinkle from their Twitter account. Aligarh police has retweeted such close to 70 thousand tweets till Friday.

On the other hand, the UP Police has constituted the SIT to investigate the matter. This is expected to accelerate the investigation of the case. At the same time, SSP Akash Kulhari set up the SIT, under the leadership of SP Dehat Manilal Patidar, to conduct a thorough investigation under the supervision of Pankaj Shrivastav. They have to report the matter in 15 to 20 days.

This was the case

The parents of the girl borrowed fifty thousand rupees from the accused, out of which forty thousand had been refunded. Only ten thousand rupees were left in the possession. On this one day, the accused asked the father of the girl to return the money and then there was a dispute between the two. On this, the accused girl’s father was threatened with dire consequences.

On May 30 the child was missing, the parents did not pay much attention about this incident. The girl’s father told the police on the disappearance of the girl that there was no rivalry or animosity with anyone. After this, on June 2, the baby’s body was discovered in the garbage pile outside the accused’s house. After this the police arrested the accused on 4th June. The name of the accused is Zahid. In this case, one of the accused Aslam has also been arrested.

Action taken so far

  • On May 31, the case was lodged, the girl’s body was found, on June 2
  • On June 4, two accused arrested
  • 5 policemen including inspector suspended on June 6
  • 3 Police teams are now engaged in finding other evidence of the incident in the town
