Boris Johnson elected as next UK Prime Minister

Britain has got a new prime minister. Boris Johnson emerged the victor in the face-toface between him and Jeremy Hunt,for the post for the next UK PM. Even before the results came out, Yougov / Times had conducted a survey. According to this, Boris Johnson had 74 per cent while Jeremy Hunt was preferred by 26 per cent of the members. Boris will take oath of office on Wednesday.

Boris Johnson has been a MP twice. Apart from this, he also played the role of Foreign Minister and London Mayor. In addition, Boris also writes weekly columns in the newspaper The Telegraph.

Told Brexit a waste

Boris Johnson called Brexit a stupidĀ  decision. He wants the option given by the European Union to be discussed again. If the deal is not dealt by October 31, then Britain will leave the EU. The EU’s 2.73 lakh crore rupees should be stopped.

Boris wants to cut the tax of 30 million wealthy British and introduce point-based systems for migrants. With this, Boris favors to increase public salaries and to make 20,000 new recruitments in police.

Finance Minister Hammond likely to resign

Britain’s Finance Minister Philip Hammond said that if Johnson becomes the Prime Minister, then he will resign. He said he could never agree with Johnson’s Brexit strategy.
