Over 30 fire-brigades called to control AIIMS fire

A major fire broke out in AIIMS, the well-known hospital in the national capital, today. It is being told that there is a fire due to short circuit. The fire started on the first and second floors. The fire was controlled to a great extent with the help of 34 fire engines, but now the fire has reached the fifth floor through the third. There is no news of any casualties so far.

This fire has started in AIIMS Teaching Block. After the fire, a team of fire brigade is present on the spot. With the help of 34 vehicles of fire department and about 150 firefighters, efforts are on to control the fire. A cloud of black smoke appears in the sky. The good thing is that all the patients are safe.

The emergency department of AIIMS has been closed as a precaution. According to the information, fire broke out at PC Block on the second floor of AIIMS. Significantly, AIIMS is not only Delhi’s, but the premier medical institution of the country.

The entire lab caught fire due to a short circuit. This ward is close to the emergency, due to which the emergency ward was immediately closed. The patients of this ward were shifted to other places.

Former Union Minister Arun Jaitley is admitted in AIIMS in a critical condition. He is in another block about 500 meters from the site of the fire. Many Union ministers and other VVIPs, including the President, PM Modi, are coming and going. In such a situation, a fire incident is a big challenge for the administration.
