Drone attack on Saudi Aramco

Saudi Aramco, one of the world’s largest oil company in Saudi Arabia, suffered a drone attack on Saturday. This information was given by the Home Minister here. He said that there was a huge fire in the company due to the explosion. At the moment no one has taken responsibility for it.

According to the information, a fierce fire broke out after a drone attack at Abqaiq and Khurais, two Saudi Aramco plants. There is no report of any damage in this attack, nor is there any information as to whether the oil production will be affected by this attack.

Saudi Arabian state media quoted the Interior Ministry as saying that two Saudi Aramco oil plants were attacked by drones on Saturday. The official Saudi press agency reported, “Aramco’s industrial security teams have begun to deal with the fires caused by the drone strikes at their plants in Abqaiq and Khurais.”

Saudi Aramco is the national petroleum and natural gas company of Saudi Arabia. It is the largest crude oil company in the world in terms of revenue. Earlier, a Saudi satellite news channel reported an explosion and fire at the Saudi Aramco Center in the eastern part of the country.

Dubai-based broadcaster Al-Arabiya reported a fire near Dammam in the Eastern Province early Saturday. The channel did not elaborate about it. In the online video, there is a fierce fire and the sound of firing from behind.

Significantly, Aramco has been targeted by terrorists. Al-Qaeda suicide bombers tried to attack the oil company in February 2006 but failed.
