JNU students clash with cops over fee hike

Delhi-based Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has been a battleground between Delhi Police and students since Monday morning. By the afternoon, the protest has become more intense. There is news of a clash between police and students. Two barricades have also been broken during this period. Many times there was a scuffle from both sides. The students at the main gate of the venue have been followed a bit by the police and the police personnel have also reached here. Two barricades have also been broken by the ongoing conflict between the two.

Police has used force on the students who were furious during the protest, during which many students have also suffered injuries. The Central Industrial Security Force along with the Delhi Police has also taken a front to stop the students’ demonstrations.

According to the news agency, some students who were protesting in the morning were forcibly put into buses.
The police also used a water canon in the afternoon witnessing a furious demonstration. JNU students took out most of the march on Monday morning, protesting against the increase in fees.

The students have been continuously protesting outside the JNU campus against the Vice Chancellor.
The vigor of the demonstration can be gauged from the fact that many times there have been noises between the students and the police. The protest is currently underway. Students are adamant about their demands.
For the last 15 days, students have been demonstrating on the JNU campus with the increase in fees and other demands. After the increase in fees, students say that how will 40 percent of economically weak students study.

JNU students have been demonstrating since Monday on several other demands, including increased fees at Jawaharlal Nehru University, which is among the most renowned institutions in the country. Meanwhile, there has been news that there is increasing conflict between police and students at the JNU graduation ceremony site.

Later in the afternoon, after encountering the students, Joint CP Anand Mohan of the South Delhi Range interacted with the students, but before that the four representatives of the JNU Students Union met Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The student union representative said that we have been assured on the issues of increasing the hostel fees. However, there is still a deadlock between the students and the police.

Earlier, there was a clash between students and police personnel several times in the afternoon. The ruckus still continues. Meanwhile, the water canon is being used by the police to disperse the protesting students. Amid the deadlock, a student’s health also worsened.
