US President Trump fined two million for charity fund misuse

US President Donald Trump faces many challenges these days. On the one hand, the sword of trial in impeachment investigation is hanging on him, on the other hand he has been fined heavily in a new case. A US judge fined Trump $ 2 million. The US President has been fined for misusing the funds of one of his charitable organizations. It is alleged that Trump has misused this money for his own political and business gains.

In New York, Judge Saliann Scarpulla instructed Trump to give the money to several charitable organizations. The lawsuit was filed by the New York Attorney General’s Office. It is alleged to have misused the properties of the Trump Foundation. The judge said in his ruling that Trump improperly allowed his 2016 campaigning personnel to work with the organization in order to raise grants for the 2016 Iowa caucus. In the judgment, the judge said that the fund raising program was aimed at furthering Trump’s political campaign.

During the hearing, Judge Saliann Scarpulla ordered that the Trump Foundation be discontinued and the remaining funds (about $ 1.7 million) of this foundation be distributed to other non-profit organizations.

Demand to pay $ 2.8 million fine

The lawsuit, filed by Attorney General James, demanded a $ 2.8 million fine on President Trump, but Judge Scrapulla imposed a fined $ 2 million. The Foundation’s lawyer had earlier said that the trial on President Trump was politically motivated.
