Facebook closes London office after one employee tests positive for Coronavirus

Facebook has closed its three offices in London till Monday. The company took this decision after one of its employees tested positive for Covid-19 (Coronavirus).

Sky News reported on Friday that social media giant Facebook has asked 3,000 employees to work from home after one of its employees was found positive for Covid-19. The employee was from Singapore and had gone to London offices from 24 to 26 February.

Facebook has said that before opening the offices, they will be thoroughly cleaned.

The company said in a statement, “An employee of our Singapore office has been discovered to be Covid-19 positive. He visited our London offices from 24 to 26 February 2020.” “So we are closing our London offices till Monday for cleaning. During this time the employees are working from home.”

There have been 163 reported cases of Coronavirus in Britain. Facebook has advised all its employees in the Bay Area of ​​America to work from home. The move has been taken after two new cases of Coronavirus surfaced in San Francisco on Thursday.

Facebook has also closed its Seattle office until Monday, as one of its contractors has been confirmed to be corona infected. This infected contractor was last in the Facebook office on 21 February. King County health officials have said that all Facebook sites employees should work from home till March 31.
