Ready to answer anyone on encounter case says Cyberabad Police Commissioner

On the question of taking cognizance of NHRC on today’s encounter, CP VC Sajjanar of Cyberabad said that we will respond to all concerned to the state government, NHRC, whatever cognizance is taken. National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) based on media reports has taken cognizance taken that all the four accused arrested by the police in the Telangana case have died in the encounter. The NHRC has asked the DG (Investigation) to immediately send its team to the investigation site to ascertain the facts in the case.

Speaking on the Telangana encounter, Congress leader P Chidambaram said that there should be a thorough investigation whether it was an actual encounter or they were trying to escape. Photographs of the scene have surfaced after the encounter in Hyderabad. There has been uproar in the Lok Sabha over the Unnao rape case. Congress MPs have walked out of the Lok Sabha on the issue. Union Minister Smriti Irani has launched a major attack on the opposition in the Lok Sabha.

All four accused in the rape and murder of a female doctor in Hyderabad were killed by Telangana police in an encounter on Friday morning. According to reports, the police had taken the accused on the spot of the crime (National Highway-44) to recite the crime scene but they fled. The police opened fire in which all the accused were killed. The incident has been praised by most politicians and veteran personalities, while AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury and BJP MP Maneka Gandhi have questioned the manner in which the accused were encountered.
