Smriti Mandhana named in ICC Women’s ODI and T20 team

Smriti Mandhana, who performed brilliantly in the year 2019, has been selected in the ICC ODI and T20 Team of the Year. In addition to Mandhana five Indian players have found their way into the ICC Team of the Year. But these players have won or placed either only in one-day or Twenty20 team. Smriti Mandhana is the only Indian player who has found a place in the two sides of the ICC.

The ICC announced Team of the Year and Player of the Year on Tuesday. Australia’s Ellyse Perry has been elected the Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2019 . She was given the Rachel Hevo Flint Award. This award was given to Smriti Mandhana last year. Ellyse Perry was also awarded the ICC Women’s ODI Player of the Year.

Dipti and Radha in T20 squad

India’s Smriti Mandhana found a place in ICC Women’s ODI and T20 teams 2019. Besides Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami and Poonam Pandey ICC ODI Team of the Year (she managed a place in ICC ODI team of the year). Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav found place in the ICC T20 Team of the Year (ICC T20I team of the year).

Meg Lanning captain of both teams

Australian Meg Laning has been named captain of the ODI and T20 of the Year. Australia has the maximum five players in the ODI team. Lanning is joined by teammates Alyssa Healy, Jess Jonassen, Megan shut, Ellyse Perry. The team comprises of 4 players from Indian and 1 player each from England and West Indies.

ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year (in batting order): Alyssa Healy, Smriti Mandhana, Tmsin Beaumont, Meg Lanning (captain), Stephanie Taylor, Ellis Perry, Jess Jonassen, Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami, Megan schutt, Poonam Yadav.

The ICC Women’s T20 Team of the Year (batting order): Alyssa Healy, Danielle Wyatt, Meg Lanning (captain), Smriti Mandhana, Liezel Lee, Ellyse Perry, Deepti Sharma, Nida Dar, Megan schutt, Shabnam Ismail, Radha Yadav.
