Tejas express to run between Mumbai-Ahmedabad

IRCTC, the tourism and catering arm of Indian Railways, will flag off its second Tejas train running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai on 17 January. Sources gave this information on Saturday.

Sources informed that the commercial operation of the train will start from January 19. The Tejas train is already operational on the Delhi-Lucknow route. Like the first Tejas train, IRCTC will compensate the passengers of the second train in the event of delay.

Sources said that the Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Ahmedabad route will run six days a week. On Thursday, it will not run due to maintenance related work. Keeping in mind the relief of the passengers, the train will be equipped with all modern facilities.

According to sources, IRCTC will give a compensation of Rs 100 to each passenger for delay of more than one hour in the operation of the train and Rs 250 for delay of more than two hours. In addition, IRCTC will provide free rail travel compensation of Rs 25 lakh to all passengers of this train.
