Nainital district schools to remain closed on 29 Jan after fresh snowfall in the hills

The weather in Kumaon has once again changed. Clouds were seen throughout the day in Nainital, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Udhamsinghnagar districts. Intermittent rains continued in many districts. There was snowfall on the higher Himalayan peaks. The mountains of Bageshwar and Pindar valley and the Peaks of Munasari received fresh spell of snow. In such a situation, the bitter cold has returned once again. Pithoragarh, Nainital and Almora district maigstrates have been declared holiday on Wednesday, January 28 in all government and private schools in view of inclement weather.

Rainy day in Nainital

The western disturbance had a significant effect on Tuesday in Nainital. The rain that started in the afternoon continued till late evening. Which affected the common life. The cold has started due to the fall in temperature. Looking at the weather forecast here, DM Savin Bansal declared a holiday on Wednesday in government and private schools from 1st to 12th class in the district. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of improvement in the weather on Wednesday. The higher peaks are prone to snow, while the lower regions will receive rain. According to the GIC Meteorological Center, the maximum temperature was recorded at 10 and the minimum was two degrees Celsius. The rainfall was ten mm.

In Pithoragarh, temperatures fall due to rain and snow

The weather in Pithoragarh has again deteriorated. Since Monday night, it has been raining across the district and snowfall has occurred at high altitudes including the high Himalayas. There is continuous snowfall in the high Himalayas in Munsiyari. Due to heavy snowfall in Kalamuni, Bitlidhar since night, the Thal-Munsari road has been closed for traffic. The minimum temperature was recorded at minus three degrees Celsius. By evening, snowfall was expected up to Munsiyari market.
