Tesla claims over 400 mile range possible in future

Tesla Motors of America has made a new claim regarding its car battery technology. CEO Elon Musk said on Saturday that his company is working on increasing the capacity of the battery with cell technology. With its use, the company’s flagship model ‘S car’ will be able to run 640 kilometers or about 400 miles in a single charge. That means the car will be able to return from New York to Washington DC. The distance between the two cities is 362 km. Such a battery will be ready by the end of this year.

Currently Tesla’s car runs for 595 kilometers or about 370 miles in one charge. The company claims that the new technology will increase battery capacity. This range will further strengthen the position of the electric vehicle compared to other competitors. For this, the company is preparing a battery with its own cell technology. Along with this, the company will stop using the battery services from current provider Panasonic.

E-vehicles will be better with cell technology in battery

The company is experimenting at its plant in Fremont, California to manufacture batteries. If the experiment is successful, Tesla models will prove to be the most durable and advanced battery systems in e-vehicles.
