$281 million: Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai’s compensation in 2019

Sundar Pichai, CEO of the US tech giant Alphabet, received a total compnsation of $ 281 million or Rs 2,144.53 crore in 2019. IIT Kharagpur alumni Sundar Pichai is among the highest paid officials in the world. Alphabet has informed that this year his salary will increase by $ 2 million (Rs 15.26 crore) this year. Pichai’s salary is 1085 times the average total salary of Alphabet employees. Sunder Pichai was born in 1972 in Chennai, India.

Pichai was elected CEO of the company following the resignations of Alphabet’s founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Pichai is also CEO of Google in addition to its parent company Alphabet. Recently Sundar Pichai donated 5 crore to non-profit firm Give India. Earlier, Google also donated Rs 5 crore to the online donation platform. Pichai received a Bachelor’s degree from IIT Kharagpur, followed by an MS degree from Stanford University in the US and then an MBA from Worton University. In 2004, he was associated with Google as a product and innovation officer.
