Albie Morkel recalls scoring 28 runs of Virat Kohli’s over

There is a moment in the life of every cricketer, which is very special. For someone, it can be a century, for someone it could be taking a wicket of their nemesis. The most important moment in the former South African all-rounder Albie Morkel’s cricketing career came when he was hit fours and sixes off Virat Kohli’s bowling. In 2012, Morkel was playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Virat Kohli was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. Virat bowled during a match. In an over from Virat Kohli, Morkel scored 28 runs to turn the match in favor of CSK.

The Chennai team needed 43 runs in the last two overs to chase down 206 against the Royal Challengers. Then Virat Kohli got down to bowl. In that one over of Virat, Morkel scored 28 runs in this sequence – 4,6,4,6,2,6.

In a video chat with Chennai Super Kings, Morkel described those 15 minutes as the highlight of his cricketing career. He told that tweets and messages still come to him for his 28 runs in 7 balls from Virat.

Hayden’s fond memory of CSK

Former Australia opener  played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Matthew Hayden has shared his most memorable moments in the IPL via social media. The 2010 IPL title was won by Chennai Super Kings and the season was very special for Matthew Hayden. This season, he met the Tibetan religious leader Dalai Lama and in addition, Hayden played a key role in CSK’s victory twice under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Hayden, a former Chennai Super Kings opener, had a chance to meet the Dalai Lama during a match played between Kings XI Punjab and CSK team in Dharamshala in 2010. CSK posted a video on its official Twitter, in which Hayden said, ‘In 2010 I had a chance to meet the Dalai Lama. This was the great moment of my life. I got a chance to meet someone who was very special.’
