HRD Ministry to take decision on reopening of schools and colleges after April 14

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has said that the decision to open the country’s educational institute will be taken only after April 14. If schools and colleges continue to be closed further, the Ministry will ensure that there is no loss of studies to the students. The HRD minister told PTI on Sunday that after reviewing the situation on the Coronavirus crisis on April 14, the government will take a decision on it. The minister said that the safety of students and teachers is paramount for the government. His ministry is ready to ensure that if there is a need to keep the school and college closed even after April 14, then there is no loss of education to the students.

Circumstances will determine what will happen

The ‘lockdown’, which is applicable for 21 days in the country, ends on 14 April. Asked about his ministry’s plan, the minister said, “It is difficult to take a decision at this time.” We will review the situation on 14 April and according to the circumstances, a decision will be taken whether schools, colleges can be reopened or they will have to be closed for some more time. “

When schools will open, there will be exams

The HRD minister said, “There are 34 crore students in the country, which is more than the American population. They are our biggest asset. Safety of students and teachers is paramount for the government. “He said,” At present, classes are being conducted online using various government platforms. Nishank said, “I am regularly reviewing the action plan being followed by the school, college during the lockdown. A plan is already in place to conduct pending examinations and evaluate (answer sheets) when the situation improves and the lockdown ends.”

The first period of a nationwide lockdown, effective to keep Corona under control, ends on April 14. Then the government will take a final decision on how to plan ahead.
