Uttarakhand government freezes DA of employees till July 2021
In view of the situation arising from the coronavirus, the government has decided to freeze the dearness allowance of more than three and a quarter lakh employees in the state. The state government has decided not to pay the dearness allowance payable to employees and additional installment of dearness relief to pensioners from January 1, 2020.

Under this, the dearness allowance and dearness relief for the state government employees and pensioners has been frozen for the next July 2021. The Finance Department has issued orders in this regard. By doing so, the government will save about four hundred crore rupees.
When the central government issued the order on Thursday, it was believed that the state government would take a quick decision on it. The next day on Friday, the state government took the decision to freeze DA immediately.
