Nepal adamant on claiming Lipulekh and Kalapani as its own

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that ‘Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh belong to us. We will take it back. Truth will prevail in this case.’

Nepal, which has been showing vigor since the road from India to Lipulekh was constructed, has released a new map showing the disputed areas as its own. In this which India’s Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh have been shown as part of Nepal.

The matter has been escalated further with Nepal government deploying its troops in the disputed areas.

After this the Nepalese people have been banned from going there. Nepal PM K.P Oli said that Nepal’s friendship with India requires that historical misconceptions should be removed.

PM Oli said in Parliament that ‘on behalf of the present government I want to convey the status as the Prime Minister that the subject of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani will not be allowed to disappear. Our land has been captured and disputed.’

He said to bring back the land by negotiating through diplomatic means. Meanwhile, China said that this is a mutual matter between India and Nepal, we will not interfere in it.

Nepal had last week protested against the inauguration of the road connecting Lipulekh pass to Dharchula in Uttarakhand. Nepal claims that this construction has taken place in its border, while India is firm that this part of Pithoragarh district is completely in the Indian border.
