Iran issues arrest warrant against US President Trump; seeks Interpol help

Iran has issued an arrest warrant against US President Donald Trump. Iran has also sought help from Interpol to arrest Trump. Iran’s move is attributed to the drone attack in Baghdad in January, in which the head of Iran’s Quds army, General Qasem Soleimani, was killed.

Tehran’s Prosecutor Ali Alqasimehr said on Monday that the drone attack on January 3 involved 30 more people besides President Trump. All these people are accused of murder and spreading terror. Iran will continue its efforts to arrest Trump.

Interpol yet to respond

Interpol, present in Leon and France, has not yet responded to the matter. Alqasimehr also reported that Iran had also appealed to Interpol to issue red notices against the rest of the accused, including Trump. This is the largest notice issued by Interpol. Under this, the location of the accused has to be ascertained and arrested.

Trump accused Soleimani of terrorist conspiracy

The US conducted a drone strike in Iran. President Trump then said, “Qasem Sulemani’s terror conspiracies spread from Delhi to London. If Americans are intimidated anywhere, we have already prepared a target list. We are ready for every kind of action as per the need. ”

Khamenei spoke of revenge

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that we will avenge General Soleimani’s death.Khamenei had said that “Soleimani’s death doubled opposition against the US-Israel. The death of General Soleimani has made us stronger to seek revenge from America”. Deputy Brigadier General Ismail Ghani was appointed the new commander in place of Soleimani.

Sulemani became the head of the Quds army of Iranian Revolutionary Guards in 1998

In 1998, General Qasem Solemani became the head of the Quds Army, a contingent of Specialist Agents of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. According to leaked documents from the US Intelligence Department, Qasem was accused of teaching local combatants in Syria and Iraq the techniques of war against American soldiers.
