Employees targeted through social engineering says Twitter on recent Bitcoin scam

Twitter accounts of former US President Barack Obama, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Amazon chief Jeff Bezos were among the many high profile accounts which were used for a Bitcoin scam. Twitter’s concern has increased after the incident. Meanwhile, Twitter has clarified again on the bitcoin scam.

A statement issued by Twitter said, “We believe that hackers targeted some Twitter employees through social engineering. They used staff data to access Twitter’s internal systems. They also used their data to access Twitter’s two-factor security systems. ‘

With this, Twitter said, ‘So far, we know that hackers used the tools available with our internal support team to hack 130 Twitter accounts. For 45 of those accounts, hackers were able to reset passwords and login as well as send tweets. ‘

Earlier also, Twitter has regretted the Twitter account of the celebrities being hacked. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said that ‘it is a difficult day for us. He said that we all find it terrible. It is being repaired. Every information will be given about it..’
