Herd immunity against Covid-19 still far away says Health Minister

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that the ICMR’s second Sero survey showed that herd immunity against COVID-19 is still far away in India’s population. In such a situation, all of us should keep following the appropriate behavior related to Covid. The Union Health Minister also said that the ICMR is increasingly testing and conducting research on people who have been re-infected with Covid-19. Although the cases of reinfection that have come up till now are very few, but the government is giving full importance to the case.

The Union Minister also said that remdesivir and plasma therapies should not be promoted. The government has issued regular advice regarding their rational use. Private hospitals have also been advised against the regular use of these investigational therapies.

The number of patients recovering from Covid-19 in the country has reached close to 50 lakh

With the recovery of 92,043 patients from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in the country, the number of people who beat this pandemic in India has reached close to 50 lakhs. The Union Health Ministry on Sunday said that with this, the number of patients recovering is 39,85,225 more than the patients under treatment. The average number of patients recovering daily from the last few days is more than 90 thousand. Underlining this fact, the ministry said, “India continues to have the highest number of patients globally at a rate of daily recovery.”
