Australia win series with second ODI win against India

Team India lost the second ODI and withit the series series of the current Australia tour. Australia won their second consecutive match to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Virat Kohli led  team India, chasing a big target of 390 runs, could manage 338/9 runs in the allotted 50 overs and the hosts won the match by 51 runs. The last match of the series will be played on 2 December in Canberra.

With this victory, Australia avenged the previous series defeat at the hands of India on their soil. In the bilateral ODI series of 2018/19, the Aussies were defeated 2–1 by Team India.

Captain Virat Kohli tried very hard to take India to victory. But he was caught after scoring 89 runs. Vice-captain KL Rahul (76) took on the the mantle, but the pressure on Team India increased steadily in front of the big goal.

Ravindra Jadeja (24) and Hardik Pandya (28) returned on consecutive balls. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan (30), Mayank Agarwal (28) and Shreyas Iyer (38) got out after getting starts.

Pat Cummins took 3 wickets for Australia. Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa had 2–2 successes each. M. Henriques and Glenn Maxwell got one wicket each.

Team India lost consecutive wickets in the end

Team India scored 338/9 in 50 overs. The 9th wicket fell at a score of 328. Jaspreet Bumrah (0) got out on the bowling of  Adam Zampa. Shami (1) was caught by Glenn Maxwell on his own ball.

Ravindra Jadeja (24) was caught by Glenn Maxwell off Pat Cummins. Hardik Pandya (28) was caught by Steve Smith the next ball. India lost the sixth and 7th wickets on the score of 321.

Earlier, Captain Virat Kohli (89 runs, 87 balls) was caught by Josh Hazelwood. Kohli missed out on his 44th ODI century. India lost its fourth wicket on the score of 225.

Smith, Maxwell propel Australia to 390 runs

Australia’s batsmen gave a lot of pasting to the Indian bowlers for the second consecutive ODI. This time the hosts gave a target of 390 runs to Team India. David Warner (83), Aaron Finch (60), Steve Smith (104) Marnus Labuschen (70) and Glenn Maxwell (63 not out) were amongst the runs. The hosts had scored 374/6 runs in the last match and now 389/4 runs further improved their highest score against Team India.
