New guidelines in Uttarakhand limit to 100 people at social gatherings

In view of the increasing cases of corona infection, now a maximum of 100 people can be involved in religious, sports, political and other public events including marriage. This arrangement has been made in the SOP issued on Sunday. Till now 200 people were allowed to participate in such programs. At the same time, the District Magistrates have been given the right to impose Night Curfew.

In the SOP released on Sunday, the state government has limited the number of people attending public events to 100. Many people have already done bookings etc. for many other events including marriage, the government was also trying to avoid this due to the inconvenience of such people.

According to the SOP, for social, religious, sports, cultural, entertainment etc. events only 50 percent of the total capacity of the hall or maximum 100 people will be allowed to attend. At the same time, only 50 percent of the total capacity of cinema hall and theater has been allowed. Swimming pools will be used only for training.

Night curfew: DM will decide

It has been made clear in the SOP that at the local level the District Magistrates will have the right to impose Night Curfew if they feel the need. At the same time, it has been said that lockdown at the local level outside the cantonment zone cannot be implemented without the permission of the state government. The night curfew was implemented during the lockdown and its purpose was to reduce the movement of people. The Night Curfew was lifted in Unlock, now anticipating its return due to rising cases of Corona the DM has been given the power to implement it.

Registration continues, no pass needed

The system of registration in the new SOP to enter the state has been retained. It has been clarified that no pass or e-pass will be required for movement. However, one has to register on the smart city website.

Emphasis on thermal screening

The state government has now put more emphasis on testing. The District Magistrates have been asked in the SOP to arrange for thermal screening at bus stops, railway stations, border posts, airports etc. If any symptoms are found in those coming from outside, then antigen test will be done. Related orders will be followed when positive.

No significant change in the rules of quarantine

The new SOP has not changed much in the Quarantine rules. On stay of less than seven days, the place of stay will have to be given and the administration will have to be informed incase of symptoms. People coming on a stay of more than seven days will have to be quarantined for 10 days.
