Vienna rocked by multiple attacks

In the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Monday evening, there have been terrorist attacks in a total of six places. So far four people have died in this firing, while 15 people have been injured. The Vienna police had said that it had succeeded in killing an attacker. It has been written on Twitter from Vienna Police that a total of six places have been attacked. Many attackers opened fire. Many people including a police officer have been injured. The incident is being reported at 8 pm local time. Several suspected criminals armed with rifles carried out the incident.

A Home Ministry spokesman has said that two men and two women have died in the incident, while 15 people have been injured, of which seven have suffered serious injuries. Police said that a total of six places have been attacked in Central Vienna, near a synagogue, ie, the Jewish Synagogue and the Opera House.

The incident occurred when there was little time left in Austria to once again be put under a lockdown to reduce the infection of coronavirus. People were enjoying the night before the lockdown. Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehmer told the ORF that the incident “looked like a terrorist attack” and requested people to stay in their homes.

After this, a major search operation is going on on Tuesday. The suspected assailant killed has been identified as a supporter of the Islamic State Group. Police is still searching for at least one more attacker. The police has completely closed the city and is looking for attackers from helicopters. Other countries adjoining Austria have also increased checking on their borders.

Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz told the public broadcaster ORF, “We will never let terrorists scare us.” We will fight these terror attacks by all means. Kurz said that this is a difficult time for our republic and he pledged that our police will take decisive action against the perpetrators of this disgusting terrorist attack.
