MS Dhoni named skipper of ICC Men’s T20I and ODI team of the decade

The most successful captain of the Indian team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, retired from international cricket on August 15 this year. Team India has won two World Cups under his captaincy and the ICC has honored his ability.

Dhoni became one-day captain of ICC this decade

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, under whose Captaincy India won One Day World Cup after 28 years, has been appointed as the captain of his 50 overs team of this decade by the ICC. Dhoni was intrumental in the final match against Sri Lanka scoring an unbeaten 91 and hitting that six which has been etched in the memory of fans forever. Apart from Dhoni, there are two more Indians in this team. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been included in this team.

Australia’s David Warner and Mitchell Starc have also been selected in this team. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and England’s Ben Stokes are the two all-rounders in this team. Imran Tahir of South Africa is the second spinner in the team.

Abraham De Villiers from South Africa has also got a place in the team. Left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult from New Zealand has been included in the team.

ICC chose Dhoni as captain of T20 team

The ICC has also selected MS Dhoni as the captain of its men’s T20 team of this decade. The current captain of the Indian team in this team Virat Kohli is also included alonwith Rohit Sharma and Jaspreet Bumrah. Apart from Abraham De Villiers of South Africa and Kiron Pollard and Chris Gayle from the West Indies have got a place in this team.

Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan is the only spinner in the team.

ICC men’s T20 team: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain-wicketkeeper), Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, Abraham de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Kiron Pollard, Rashid Khan, Jaspreet Bumrah, Lasith Malinga.
