RBI employees to go on 2 day mass leave on Sep 4 and 5

The joint forum of officials and employees of the Reserve Bank (UFRBI) has called for collective leave holiday on September 4 and 5 in support of their demands. It is expected to affect the functioning of the central bank as well as other banks.

“The organization has called upon the employees to go on a collective casual leave on September 4 and 5,” said Samir Ghosh, general secretary of the All India Reserve Bank Employees Association and members of UFRBI. This will disrupt the functioning of the central bank. “

The main demand of the forum include the option of the Contributory Provident Fund (CPF), to give the option of taking advantage of the pension plan and giving additional provident fund benefits to the employees appointed from 2012.

According to the UFRBI release, “In October 2017, RBI governor Urjit Patel formally wrote a letter to the government saying that the central bank would like to improve the pension and provident fund options. But the government rejected it in an informal manner. “
